Since November 2007, the HHAPC has been collecting data related to alcohol-usage in the Hermosa community. This information will be compiled, analyzed, and distributed to the Healthy Hermosa Coalition to determine which strategies will be implemented in Fall 2008. Here is some of the information that is being collected that will be available to the community:
*Listing of liquor stores, supermarkets, and other retail-outlets selling alcohol.
*Listing of bars and their compliance with state regulations.
*Volume of advertisements in local newspapers, local television, and billboards catering to minors.
*Percentage of community residents reporting alcohol-usage as acceptable in the community.
*Percentage of community residents reporting youth having easy-access to alcohol.
*Number of alcohol-related arrests in the past year.
*Number of alcohol-related hospital admissions/discharges.
*Self-reported student alcohol-usage.
*Local alcohol policies and school alcohol policies.
