Celebrating 7 Years--2009


Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds walk brought together area schools for a March to recognize both physical and mental health.

Healthy Hermosa Sponsored Health Fair.


The American Heart Association and the Chicago Department of Public Health received a Chicago Community Trust grant to increase the public's ability to administer basic CPR. This CPR Anytime project was carried out by the Healthy Communities Initiative.

CPR Training sites and Audiences varied fromt heyoung to senior citizens. In Hermosa, The MIracle Center, North Grand High School and the 25th Police District Participated in the trainings.

Greater West Town Training Partnership offers 2 training programs

Shipping & Receiving 12 week training program is scheduled to start July 2010. Orientation for Shipping & Receiving is every Wednesday at 8:45am. Participants interested should call 312/563-9028 to register for orientation.

Woodworking 14 week training program is scheduled to start late July 2010. Orientation for Woodworking has not started. Participants who are interested should call 312/563-9028 for upcoming orientation dates.

Engaging kids and community

Ask, Listen, Lean: Kids and Alcohol Don't Mix empowers kids to say "YES" to a healthy lifestyle and "NO" to underage drinking.

Dedicated to fighting drunk driving and underage drinking, the Century Council has developed Ask Listen Learn alongside a team specializing in middle school-aged students. Interactive information and interactive play, this website will engage the young mind and provide positive information on saying "NO".
